About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Developer (Go / Kubernetes) to build and run cloud-native services on Kubernetes. You’ll write production Go, improve reliability and performance, and help shape our architecture and engineering standards. You’ll also review code, mentor others, and work closely with product and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable solutions.

Practicalities

Remote role, based anywhere in the EU.
(For Helsinki-based candidates) This role requires presence in our Kamppi office at least 3 days per week.
Full-time, permanent contract.

Your responsibilities

Work with existing software systems that make up our managed services portfolio.
Build and maintain Kubernetes operators and cluster components that integrate with our other cloud services.
Build and maintain client-facing APIs and tools that help ensure first-class user experience outside our excellent web console (Terraform, CLIs etc).

Your key competencies

5+ years of experience as a professional software developer, with 3+ years of Go experience.
Experience with Kubernetes native software, operators and CRDs.
Understanding of CNI plugins, some knowledge of BGP, VXLAN.

Nice-to-haves

Experience with operators that span multiple clusters.
Familiarity with Linux: virtualization, networking, filesystems (overlay, remote).
Experience with different cloud computing platforms.
Security-aware mindset.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and IaC.
Knowledge of other programming languages. While this job is about Go, we have plenty of TypeScript and some Python as well.
Knowledge of container runtimes, especially GPU-enabled.
Knowledge of extra isolation, such as gvisor or kata containers.
