Senior Back-End Developer (Cloud)

Practicalities

  • Hybrid mode: This role requires presence in our Kamppi office at least 4 days per week. Don’t worry - you won’t be alone or hangry there. (We keep a stocked fridge…)
  • Level of expertise: Senior.
  • Employment type: Full-time and permanent.

Your responsibilities

  • Work on various components of your choice: billing systems, IAM, authentication, APIs, queue-based systems, analytics, payments, resource provisioning, and others
  • Work closely with SRE engineers and data center team to build APIs for fast and robust resource provisioning.
  • Participate in improving the deployment workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Pay close attention to information security principles, and use them to drive engineering decisions.
  • Communicate with customers and other teams for troubleshooting and support.

Your key competencies

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Back-end.
  • Proficiency with TypeScript.
  • Experience with Node.js ecosystem - NestJS, Express, or similar frameworks.
  • Experience with designing, building, and maintaining micro-service architectures and workflows.
  • Proficiency in working with SQL databases and designing scalable data models.
  • Experience with maintaining public RESTful APIs.
  • Proficiency in testing frameworks and setting up testing suites.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and DevOps practices is a plus.
  • Experience with Python and/or Go is a plus.

Success criteria for this role in the next 6-12 months

  • You have developed a good understanding of our overall stack and can contribute in many parts of the codebase.
  • You know where to start looking for the root cause whenever you see an issue.
  • You are confident in architecting and developing larger features/microservices for our product.

  3. Final interview (60 mins): Meet with our CTO and the rest of the team.
